Hands on presentations are a great way for young people to learn. Our presentations include slide shows and can incorporate all the products listed on this site, including spent cocoon dissection. We bring moths and  caterpillars (potentially at various instars) right into your classroom. Students will be given the opportunity hold/touch live caterpillars and adult moths. The presentation thoroughly explores the cecropia life cycle and further connects silk as a textile to the cocoons. We bring in a spinning wheel and make silk yarn from cocoons. We are currently scheduling presentation dates for elementary, secondary schools and libraries. We will drive up to 250 miles within Cleveland. Presentations last one to two hours and can be tailored to your needs. Rates are $100 dollars an hour with additional costs for materials. In addition, we can upon request supply workbooks and coloring pages for your students to take home.
